Primo VE Library Catalog

What is Primo?  Primo is the library catalog, where our physical books are cataloged, as well as our direct subscriptions to digital library products (such as eBooks, eJournals, and databases).  Primo is also linked to the other libraries in the 90-plus academic library consortium.  Current students, staff, and faculty can search and request books for I-Share through the Primo catalog.

Individuals auditing classes will not have access to materials through the Primo VE library catalog unless they are a fully enrolled student at the same time they are auditing the course.

How to Use the Library Catalog / Primo

Library access varies.

Current local students, staff, and faculty: Using the Primo VE library catalog, they can access books in the physical collection.  They can also access available digital materials (ebooks, databases, journals, etc.) and request books through I-Share. They can also access the digital materials in Primo online catalog.

Current distance students and faculty:  Can only access the digital materials in the Primo online catalog.  They cannot access books in the physical collection unless they are on campus.  They also cannot access books through I-Share.  We do not mail books to students.

Alumni:  Can only access books in the physical collection when they are on campus.  Access to any digital collections and I-Share is only for current students, staff, and faculty.

Auditors:  Individuals auditing classes will not have access to materials through the Primo VE library catalog unless they are a fully enrolled student at the same time they are auditing the course.
